I spent some time going through my past blog posts tonight, and it was quite the trip down memory lane. Sometimes I wish I rocked more of a filter...but if I'm 29 now (yikes) and haven't been blessed with one...a girl can dare to dream, I suppose.
My last post was more than a year ago. And it's been quite the year. I have had multiple jobs. From Starbucks (still probably my favorite) to DSM Daily (not quite my favorite), Hoyt Middle School (unbeatable in Blockus) to Iowa Health (amazing.) Onto my next thing for hopefully a while : Principal. I mean.....the Lord is good :)
I could say I have been amazed, humbled, and silenced by the faithfulness I have seen by the Lord in the last year, but that would be an understatement.
I have seen incomprehensible healings, marriages, pregnancies (I'm going to be an aunt!). I have seen sadness, loss, trials, salvations, baptisms. I have seen people come, people go, people learn, people grow (the rhyme was unintentional...but awesome....so I'm leaving it.)
I want to start blogging again. I don't know where I'll start.
I know. The Dominican Republic. I'm leaving on my first international mission trip in 5 days. There aren't words to describe my feelings. But since that has never stopped me before, I'll give it a try.
I'm actually giddy. Like a child on Christmas Day (cliche but true.) I have seen the Lord move in areas where I've stepped out in even the smallest amount of faith, and I already know I'm going to be humbled....well....more than I've ever been humbled....when I witness what He has in store for the Dominican. Our church is helping with a church plant that will be taking place down there in (hopefully) the next year. We have a team of about 50 there now, and a group of about 35 of us are heading down Saturday to take over for another week. Our mission : Evangelism. We are hoping to spread the Message of Christ to the people of Santo Domingo. We are prayerfully seeking the Lord to soften hearts, so people are ready for the life changing news of His Son.
More to follow.
Pray for our team. We would like to see a salvation per missionary. That would be 35 people whose eternity would be forever changed by the message of the Gospel.
I smile even as I write that.....It's His story....I'll never understand why He blessed me to be a part of it.
